Cheaper than your local supermarket

Cheaper than your local supermarket

At The Refillery, we believe low-waste, plastic-free shopping should be affordable for everyone – not just those with deep pockets and reusable jars in every cupboard. Our aim is simple: your overall basket should come out cheaper than the supermarket equivalent, without compromising on ethics, quality, or sustainability.

Because doing the right thing for the planet shouldn't cost more than doing nothing at all.

We try to keep our prices at or below the supermarket average. We are still very new and finding our feet with suppliers, so while a few items on our shelves items may be a little more expensive than some of the own-brand supermarket alternatives, that’s the reality of not buying 40 tonnes of pasta at a time. But when you fill your basket with bulk staples, skip the packaging, and support a business that doesn’t answer to shareholders, you should find your total bill comes out lower – and your conscience a lot lighter.

Now, let's be honest – we're a tiny business. We don't have giant warehouses, supermarket-level buying power, or the luxury of squeezing suppliers to the point of collapse. But what we do have is a commitment to doing things better. For many everyday essentials, we choose to eat the markup and sell at cost, because making refill-friendly living accessible matters more to us than squeezing out a margin on a bag of rice.

We’re constantly looking for ways to lower prices across the board while staying true to our values. As we grow, so will our buying power – and we’ll use it to bring our prices down even further. Until then, we promise complete transparency and zero greenwashing. Just honest food, fair prices, and no plastic nonsense.

Rewards are dead. Long live rewards!

We don’t run a reward scheme, and that’s very much on purpose. While supermarket loyalty cards can feel like a treat, they often mask inflated prices elsewhere — giving you the illusion of savings while clawing it back through markups. At The Refillery, we’d rather keep things simple and transparent. Instead of dangling points or perks, we focus on offering genuinely low prices on the things you actually need, without the games. It's a more honest kind of value – no card scan required.
